Junior Development Programming

Our progressive junior training system follows the revolutionary USTA standards for 10 and Under Tennis. Our program is designed to shape all players into the best competitors they can be. From introducing strong fundamentals to beginners to honing the skills of experienced players producing top competitors, the Oak Brook Junior Development Pathway will produce results.

Junior Progressive Training System Levels:

Junior Development 3-4 (Previously U3-U4)
For players ages 3-4. Uses the USTA 10 and Under Tennis format on a 36’ court and foam balls concentrating on introduction to tennis, racquet face control, ball bounce judgement, space management, initiate rallies, agility, balance, coordination.

Junior Development 5-6 (Previously U6) 
For players ages 5-6. Uses the USTA 10 and Under Tennis format on a 36’ court and foam balls concentrating on introduction to tennis, racquet face control, ball bounce judgement, agility, balance, coordination, Serve, Rally and Play.

Junior Development 7-8 (Previously U8) 
For players ages 7-8. Uses the USTA 10 and Under Tennis format on a 36’ court and foam balls concentrating on receiving skills, court movement, agility, balance, coordination, Serve, Rally and Play.

Junior Development 9-11 (Previously U10) 
For players ages 9-11. Uses the USTA 10 and Under Tennis format on a 60’ court and low compression red & orange balls concentrating on receiving skills, court movement, agility, balance, coordination, Serve, Rally and Play.

Junior Development 12-16 (Previously U14) 
For players ages 12-16. Uses a 60’-78’ size court and low compression orange & green dot balls concentrating on receiving skills, court movement, agility, balance, coordination, Serve, Rally and Play.

The 10 & Under Tennis Academy features a Game Based Approach concentrating on tactical strategy, modern technical development, agility-balance-coordination and court movement.

Our Performance Academies feature a Game Based Approach and live ball practice as a coaching philosophy.
