The Oak Brook Park District, created in 1962, owns and maintains six parks in Oak Brook, totaling 173 acres. Central Park, bordered by Jorie Boulevard, Kensington Road, Route 83, and Forest Gate Road, is home to the District’s Tennis Center, Family Recreation Center, Fitness Center, indoor Family Aquatic Center, Central Park West, Pavilion, administration offices, and outdoor athletic fields. Athletic fields, playgrounds and walking paths are available in several locations for the enjoyment of the community.

North Area of Central Park
The northern area of Central Park was added to Central Park in November of 2018 by the successful passing of a local referendum. On Monday, March 20, 2023, the Oak Brook Park District began Phase II construction at the Central Park North Athletic Fields site.

Summer Notice: Lightning Warning System
Oak Brook Park District’s Lightning Prediction System is in operation from April - November.
ONE PROLONGED BLAST OF THE HORN: Immediately seek shelter in a vehicle or building, conditions are right for generating lightning. ALL OUTDOOR ACTIVITY MUST CEASE.
THREE FIVE-SECOND BLASTS: All clear signal-risk of lightning has diminished. AVOID: Open areas, water, tall trees, metal fences, cellular phones, and radios.
