Oak Brook IL – Oak Brook Park District is proud to announce that it has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association. This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement for the District.
The award recognizes the Park District’s annual budget document for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. To earn this honor, the budget underwent review by an independent panel and was evaluated against nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines assess how well a budget functions as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications tool. To receive the award, a budget document must be rated proficient in all four categories and in the fourteen mandatory criteria within them.
The Oak Brook Park District remains committed to responsible stewardship of public resources and to maintaining all standards required for continued participation in GFOA’s Budget Awards Program.
