Bundle up for Winter Lights at Central Park!

As the sun sets, Central Park transforms into a magical winter wonderland. Thousands of twinkling lights illuminate a half-mile walk through the park. Discover dancing trees, colorful rainbow arches, cascading snowflakes, dazzling twirling icicles, vibrantly colored butterflies, and musical hearts along the way.

Sensory-friendly time

Every evening, 4:00–4:30 PM

All blinking and moving lights remain static, and music is silenced. Oak Brook Park District works to minimize barriers so everyone can fully experience the lights.

Plan your visit

  • Free admission. Donations are welcome to benefit People’s Resource Center and the Oak Brook Park District Foundation.
  • Walk or roll. The paved, accessible path is a one-way, half-mile loop.
  • Bring your camera. Photo opportunities are available throughout the walk.
  • Restrooms. Indoor restrooms are available during Cocoa Cabin hours. On other nights, limited restrooms are available on the back side of the Central Park West building.
  • Dogs are welcome on a leash.

The path closes at 9:30 PM each night and during inclement weather, including heavy snow, ice, rain, or lightning. Any closures will be posted on this page.

Important parking information

When temperatures are comfortable, Winter Lights can be very busy and parking lots may fill. Please use the additional parking location shown on the map below, then walk to the start of the lights.

Do not park on the grass or in non-designated parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation!
