Aquatics Rules

Aquatic Center General Rules

  • Contagious diseases and infections put all pool users at risk. Individuals with theses health problems are asked not to use the facility. Band-Aids of any kind are not permitted.
  • Food and beverages are allowed in the concession area only. NO outside food or beverages may be brought into the aquatic center.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the aquatic center and inside the family recreation center.
  • Children ages 10 or younger must be accompanied by an adult/guardian age 16 or older at all times.
  • Patrons ages 15 and younger are not allowed in the whirlpool
  • All patrons entering the aquatic center pool deck must take showers.
  • Patrons should make special needs known to aquatic center staff, and every attempt will be made to meet these needs.
  • Running, boisterous or rough play is not tolerated.
  • Street shoes are prohibited on the pool deck.
  • Baby diapers are not allowed in the pool.
  • Glass containers, soap, lotion or other material, which might create hazardous conditions or interfere with the efficient operation of the swimming pool, are not permitted in the pool or on the deck.
  • Metal objects, eyeglasses or jewelry are not permitted on the slide.
  • Patrons must be 42 inches tall to ride the slide.
  • Individuals using the slide are asked to slide feet first only.
  • Chain riding is prohibited.
  • Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease or high blood pressure and persons using prescription medication should consult their physicians before using the whirlpool and water slide.
  • Pregnant women are not permitted on the water slide.
  • All swim apparel worn in the Aquatic center must be clean.
  • Diving in shallow waters is not permitted.
  • Patrons must obey lifeguards at all times.
  • Portions of the aquatic center may be closed at the discretion of management.
  • Additional rules may be added by management if necessary.

Outdoor Splash Park Rules 

  • Running, boisterous, or rough play is not allowed and will not be tolerated.
  • Street shoes are prohibited in the Splash Park. Sandals, flip-flops or appropriate deck wear is recommended. 
  • All infants and toddlers must wear swim diapers. We ask that patrons not change diapers outdoors sin the Splash Park. Locker rooms are equipped with changing facilities.
  • Food and beverages in non-glass containers are allowed on the Splash Park sundeck only. Please keep food and beverages in the designated areas.
  • The splash park will be open when the outside temperature reaches 70 degrees or warmer. The Splash Park Will be closed during inclement weather.
  • When the lighting detection system sounds, all patrons must exit the Splash Park and go indoors. The Splash Park will resume operation when the detection system gives the all-clear sound.
  • Additional rules may be added by management if necessary.

Lap Lane Rules

  • Please select your lane carefully
  • Lane availability varies according to other scheduled classes, and an empty lane may not be available. Please choose a lane with swimmers exercising at a similar pace as you; please do not just choose the lane with the fewest swimmers.
  • Change lanes if you switch to a slower stroke.
  • Please be prepared to switch lanes if the pool becomes busy or if their speed does not match that of the other swimmers.
  • Keep to the right
  • If there are only two swimmers, line swimming is permitted If a third swimmer enters a lane and wants to circle swim, all swimmers must circle swim. When circle swimming, swim counter clockwise.
  • Slower swimmers should stay to the right and allow passing on the left. Refusing someone to pass can be rude and dangerous.
  • Be courteous
  • Let other swimmers know when you get into their lane
  • Do not use kickboards, fins or pull buoys when they will interfere with other swimmers.
  • If your stroke interferes with other swimmers you may be asked to switch strokes
  • The lifeguard is the authority
  • Our trained, certified lifeguards ensure the safety of all swimmers. If a lifeguard asks you to move to another lane, please do not be insulted or argue with the lifeguard.

Water Slide Rules

  • To ride the slide, you must be 42” tall.
  • Riders may be required to take a swim test.
  • Swimmers wearing floatation devices (of any kind) are not permitted down the waterslide.
  • Slide feet first only.
  • Guests must lay on their back or sit facing forward while using the waterslide.
  • Standing or stopping in the slide is prohibited.
  • Keep hands inside the flume.
  • Chain riding is prohibited. Children may not ride with adults.
  • Riders must wait for the attendant’s signal before starting the ride.
  • Catching children at bottom of slide is prohibited.
  • Metal objects, eye glasses, or jewelry are not permitted on slide. Goggles must be in the swimmer’s hand during the ride.
  • Elderly persons, those suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, or persons using prescription medication should consult their physicians before using the slide.
  • Pregnant women are not permitted on the water slide for their personal safety.
  • No diving from the end of the flume or into the pool from the deck.
  • Violation of any of these rules will result in loss of slide privileges and/or discharge from the facility.
  • Additional rules may be added by management as necessary.
