How long is the 5K Race?
It's 5 kilometers, which is 3.1 miles.
What happens if I become injured after I enter and cannot participate?
There are no medical refunds or rollovers, nor can you transfer your registration to another person.
Can I register day-of-race?
Yes! Day-of-race registration is available Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 6am to 7:45 a.m. The price is $40. Timing chips and t-shirts cannot be guaranteed to anyone that has registered after April 15.
Can I walk?
Yes! Walkers are welcome. We ask that you start closer to the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time.
Can I bring my stroller/dog/iPod?
Yes! Strollers, wheelchairs and mp3 players are welcome. We ask that strollers start near the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time. No dogs, please.
What about parking and transportation?
First, we urge you to consider car-pooling. There will be limited parking available in the main Family Recreation Center Lot. Additional parking will be available off Kensington and within short walking distance of the starting line. Parking instructions will be available in the race packets and staff will be visible from Jorie Boulevard to direct you to the nearest parking spot. It is highly recommended that you plan on arriving before 7:30am to ensure you have the very best race day experience possible.
Is clothing check available?
There is no bag check. Please plan accordingly.

Where is the start of the race?
The race starts and finishes at the Oak Brook Park District near Central Park West.
What will the weather be like?
Good question! The weather in Illinois is variable in the spring, but you knew that! The Pink 5K will take place come rain or shine!

Can I view the course before the race?

Where are the best locations for spectators?
The entire course is spectator-friendly but the best spots would be along Jorie and near the start/finish. NOTE the course will be CLOSED TO TRAFFIC please do not attempt to drive on the course during the race.
How is the race timed?
Participants will wear an electronically-readable chip affixed to their bid number. As runners cross the Finish line they run over a mat with a sensor that recognizes and records each runner’s “chip time”.
Will there be food after the race?
Yes, snacks and beverages will be provided post race.
Will there be awards after the race?
Yes, immediately following the completion of the race an overall male and female winner will be awarded. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female winners will be awarded in each age bracket.
Where do I get my race bib and package?
Beginning May 11, participants may pick up their race packets from 9:00am-8:00pm at the Family Recreation Center, 1450 Forest Gate Road. Race day packet pick-up is from 6:00am-7:45am. We apologize that we cannot mail race packets.
