Oak Brook Park District Annual Pink 5K Raises Over 28,000 for Hinsdale Hospital Foundation Open Arms Fund

Participant approaches the starting line for annual Pink 5K in support of breast cancer awareness

Oak Brook, Illinois – The Oak Brook Park District successfully hosted its Annual Pink 5K on Saturday, May 9 2026, in Central Park in Oak Brook. The event brought together residents, families, and neighbors for a morning centered on fitness, community, and philanthropy while raising over 28,000 for the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation Open Arms Breast Cancer Outreach Fund.

The Open Arms Breast Cancer Outreach Fund provides free mammograms for women experiencing gaps in insurance coverage. The net proceeds from the event supported the fund, with every 250 dollars raised helping provide one life changing screening.

Community support and participation once again defined the Pink 5K. Participants of all ages and fitness levels ran or walked the scenic course at Central Park, many in honor of loved ones or in support of those affected by breast cancer. The event continued its tradition of turning a community run into a meaningful show of solidarity and support.

The event was made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including UChicago Medicine | AdventHealth Hinsdale, Old Second National Bank, Uberliss, CNH, The Sheridan at Oak Brook, and Republic Bank.

The Oak Brook Park District thanks all participants, volunteers, and sponsors who contributed to the success of this year’s Pink 5K and helped make a meaningful impact in the community.
