Oak Brook, IL – January 20, 2025 – The Oak Brook Park District was not among the chosen for Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant funding this year.
The application for funding was due in September 2024. At the August 19 regular meeting of the Oak Brook Park District Commissioners, the Board approved the OSLAD Grant Program Resolution of Authorization for the Central Park Enhancements. Staff explained to the Board that the OSLAD Grant Funding would be used to replace existing tennis courts, enhance pickleball courts, and replace two playgrounds at the Family Recreation Center.
Executive Director Laure Kosey said, “While we did not receive the grant this year, we congratulate the agencies in Illinois that were awarded funds to assist in completing projects that make recreation better for all.”
As stated in the November Board meeting minutes, “If the Park District does not receive the grant, then the pickleball courts, tennis courts, and playgrounds will not be replaced.”
Kosey added, “Staff plans to explore additional funding opportunities for these projects in the future.”
