Good things are happening at the Family Recreation Center! Several facility improvement and maintenance projects are planned over the next few weeks to help keep our spaces in great shape and improve your experience.
With several projects happening around the same time, we want to give you a look at what’s coming and help you plan your visits. While some projects will temporarily impact access to certain areas, staff are working to minimize disruptions wherever possible.
Thank you for your patience as these projects help us maintain and improve our facilities for the community.
Fit Central Floor Replacement: August 24–September 4
Fit Central will receive a new floor, giving the space a fresh update and improved surface for workouts.
During the project:
- Group fitness classes will continue as scheduled.
- Studios A and B will be available when programming is not in session.
- Studio C will have limited cardio and strength training equipment available.
Gymnasium & Track Closed: August 26–31
The gymnasium floor will be resurfaced as part of regular facility maintenance to help keep the space in great condition. As the gymnasium resurfacing work takes place, the track will also be closed. Please note that the resurfacing process may create a strong odor. Staff will do their best to isolate the work area and minimize the smell throughout the rest of the facility.
Family Recreation Center Exterior Building Maintenance: August 24 - September 25
Exterior maintenance and painting will take place around the exterior of the Family Recreation Center. The work is expected to cause minimal disruption, but you may notice crews working around the outside of the building during this time.
Tennis Center Outdoor Tennis Court Project: August - October
Work is underway for the outdoor tennis court improvement project at the Central Park. The existing courts are well beyond their useful life and are being replaced with eight new courts, fencing, and site amenities which will be a welcome upgrade to the site.
Baseball Field Parking Lot Replacement
The baseball field parking lot will be expanded by 12 parking spots and resurfaced. Work is expected to take place during the same timeframe as the Tennis Center outdoor tennis court project. Specific dates of the affected lot closure will be shared as details become available.
Parking Lot Maintenance Coming Soon
Preventive maintenance, including crack filling, sealcoating, and re-striping parking lots is expected to begin soon. Work will affect the Family Recreation Center Parking Lot and surrounding pavement, the Tennis Center Drive, and the North Athletic Field Parking Lot. Dates are still being finalized. More information, including specific closure dates and affected areas, will be shared as details become available.
