Cancellations and Status Updates

COVID-19 Community Update  |  May 22, 2020

The Oak Brook Park District continues to monitor information and guidance from the Governor, CDC, and Illinois Department of Public Health. We would like to update our community on the opportunities available to you from the Park District. Our focus remains on safety, security, and cleanliness for patrons and staff. 


Park open spaces, trails and pathways, disc golf and foot golf courses remain open for safe physical activity. Please follow the CDC's guidelines on social distancing while using our parks and trails to protect yourself and others. 

All athletic field rentals, including Sports Core fields, are limited to 10 people per area. Rentals are available during Phase 3 of Restore Illinois. Updates on field rentals will be on our website. Please contact Brian DeWolf at bdewolf [at], or 630-645-9529 for rental availability. 

Some facilities at our Central Park campus will be utilized for select programming starting June 1. Please see below for more details and visit our recreation page for opportunities available now! 


The Tennis Center facility will open for indoor and outdoor court reservation and select outdoor programming on June 1. Hours will be Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 8:00pm; Saturday - Sunday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

-Tennis membership fees are half-price for the month of June and any unused credit from March will be applied towards it. Therefore, there will be no charge on the credit card on file for June memberships.

-We would like to reassure members who have paid in full, your membership will be extended for the length of the closure. For example, if we are closed for three months, your membership will expire three months later than originally scheduled.
-If you are an EFT member, you will not be charged during the fitness center closure. Your account will be adjusted accordingly when facilities reopen and billing resumes.

Fitness Center:
Starting June 1, outdoor group fitness classes will be available Monday - Saturday, 8:00am - 1:00pm. Registration will be available beginning May 23 at

Personal Training:
Starting June 1, Personal training services will be offered Monday - Saturday, 8:00am - 1:00pm. New Personal Training clients may complete the Request for Personal Training Form online on our website or contact Mike Delgado, Fitness Supervisor, at mdelgado [at]

All Personal Training sessions and fitness classes will follow approved IDPH and CDC safety guidance, including social distancing guidelines and equipment sanitation and disinfection procedures.


Planning will continue for further opportunities and expanded use of both facilities when we move into Phase 4 of Restore Illinois. Please check our website for continued updates. 



Select on-site programming will be available in June. All programs will be held with 10 people or less. Virtual programming will also continue through June. Find all our June programming options online here

Pre-Registration is required for the following programs:
-Summer Hangouts, a new program, available for the weeks of June 15, June 22, and June 29 for kids 8 years old and older.
-Summer Hang-Ins for kids ages 2-7
-Pioneer fitness programs, Contract Bridge, Mah Jongg, Brain Games, and Zoom Coffee Break virtual program.
-Sports clinics such as Multi-Sport, Basketball, and Volleyball.
-Virtual programs like iCook, All Star Sports Instruction, Rocket League E-Gaming, Music Together, and more.
-Crafts at home’ packages will be available for purchase.
-Themed care packages will be available for purchase.
-Cori’s Kids Triathlon is rescheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2020.


Central Park West rentals have been cancelled for the month of June. Updates regarding rental opportunities will be provided on our website. 


Bath (Pool)
-The Sports Core pools will not be opening for summer 2020. Delays with the IDPH permit approvals have resulted in a suspension of construction, therefore not allowing the pools to be ready for use this season.

-Tennis Memberships are available for sale online or via membership form. Due to the delayed opening, Tennis Membership prices have been reduced by $50. Mail forms to 1450 Forest Gate Rd., Oak Brook, or emailing to Dave Thommes at dthommes [at]
