A 5K is more fun with friends and family!
Tuesday, March 13, 2018 Oak Brook, IL – The Oak Brook Park District has made it easier to field a team for this year’s Pink 5K which will take place on Saturday, May 12 in Central Park. “Team registration really makes this event different and is one of the reasons it is so successful,” says Michael Delgado, Fitness Supervisor for the Oak Brook Park District. According to Delgado, the majority of the event registration comes from teams.
This year, the district dropped the team size requirement from 25 down to 15. Teams receive discounted registration and custom race shirts. “We wanted to make sure the benefits of team registration were accessible to families as well as businesses,” says Delgado. To register a team, team captains can fill out a paper registration packet or contact Mike Delgado at (630) 645-9542 or email email@example.com to obtain a unique online registration code. Each teammate would need to use the code when registering online in order to receive the team discount and t-shirt. The deadline for team registration is Friday, April 13.
The Pink 5K is sponsored by AMITA Health and Evergreen Bank Group and proceeds from the race will once again benefit the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation –Open Arms Breast Cancer Outreach Fund. The Pink 5K has raised more than $60,000 for the foundation since 2012. In turn, Open Arms uses the funds to support it’s 40-40-40 program, which provides free lifesaving breast cancer screenings for 40 local uninsured or under insured women over the age of 40 each year.
