You and your child have the very exciting opportunity to learn and grow through musical play at the Oak Brook Park District! Join us for the next semester of Music Together® classes in September!
We are excited to join Music Together® in celebrating 20 years of incredible creative education right here in Oak Brook. Music Together, LLC offers a unique program that not only nurtures infant neurological development through music, it provides activities that foster the positive parenting and caregiver-child interactions that support healthy brain development.
The interactive classes that are available at the Oak Brook Park District are designed for co-participation between parents and caregivers and their children. Your role as an adult is essential, and fun!
According to Music Together, LLC’s research team, actively participating with your child in programs such as Music Together® has been shown to impact the physical development of an infant’s right brain, which regulates stress, emotion, and the ability to self-regulate. This can greatly impact how a child copes with stress later in childhood and into adulthood.
Music Together® will provide you with a supportive environment and the at-home tools to engage in parent-child activities that promote positive, sensitive, responsive, and loving interactions that lead to healthy attachment relationships. You will have the opportunity to practice effective and empathetic listening that can help you attend to your infant’s needs and distress signals.
Parents don’t need to have any music skills to participate in Music Together® and set their child on the road to a lifelong love of music! You just need a desire to play and have fun with your child.
The research-based curriculum full of wiggling, signing, and laughing with your child is so much fun, it’s easy to forget how much learning is taking place.
