On February 1st at 3pm, the STARS Swim Team will be conducting a Swim-A-Thon in an effort to raise $13,000 for the purchase of a new automatic timing system to be used during all swim meets. This new system will include touchpads, back-up buttons and a computer timing console. The touchpads will improve the accuracy of the results, allow for intermittent splits to be taken during races and better communicate results in a timely manner to the public.
The Swim-A-Thon will be a challenge to our athletes, asking them to physically push themselves to complete as many lengths of the 25-yard pool as they can in a continuous hour of effort. We are asking family and friends to support our athletes by sponsoring their efforts in the Swim-A-Thon. Sponsorship may be in the form of a straight donation or in the form of a donation per length rate of pay. Swimmers will receive documentation noting how many lengths were completed to share with their sponsors after the completion of the event. Donations are acceptable in cash, check or electronic form of payment.
