Heels hurting? Feet aching?  Don't let it sideline you. 

When many people start an exercise regimen their feet begin to ache, some even have excruciating heel pain with the first few steps after rest.  The number one cause of this is a tight Achilles tendon.  You can cure this by doing some simple stretches such as the stair stretch, hang the heels off the edge of a stair and let gravity stretch out that tendon.  Be sure to hold on to a rail, so you don't fall!  Wearing quality supportive shoes will often help as well.

Cardiovascular Tip

When using a cardiovascular machine in the fitness club, maximizes your weight loss by using the heart rate monitor embedded in the fitness machine or using your own personal chest strap heart rate monitor. 

First, you need to determine your Maximum Heart Rate by using this simple formula:
220 – Age = Maximum Heart Rate

After determining your Maximum Heart Rate, use one of the Premiere Fitness Club’s new cardiovascular machines (treadmills, ellipticals or bikes) at 50-60% of your Maximum Heart Rate.  Maintain this cardiovascular workout for 20-40 minutes (3 x per week) to increase your metabolism and thus, increase your weigh-loss!
